Our volunteers have been hard at work all year and it all comes down to the next 13 days. Over these next 13 days, we will be making our big Get Out The Vote effort. However, we need your help.
While we will be contacting as many Republicans as possible over the next 13 days, research shows that people need to be asked to do something multiple times before they take action. (If you are a parent, you’re already aware of this fact, just think back to the last time you asked your child to clean their room.) So please help our efforts by reminding your conservative friends to go vote! Then, ask them a day or two later if they’ve voted yet. If conservatives & Republicans in Durham are asked to vote 7 times between now and Election Day, they are far more likely to actually vote. Help us, help the nation, by asking your friends at least 3 times.
Remember, the entire nation is counting on Durham County.
The good news it that Thom Tillis is picking up steam and Kay Hagan is … well, she’s hiding. After the second televised debate, Kay Hagan skipped the traditional post-debate news conference. Perhaps because she didn’t want to answer any tough questions about her family directly benefiting from the stimulus bill that she voted for back in 2009. And just this week, she held an event at NC State but refused to allow students or the public to attend. We’ve also learned that she has been planning on skipping the last televised debate for quite some time.
What’s she hiding from?
Now, even Rachel Maddow, champion of the left, ripped into Kay Hagan for skipping last night’s debate with Thom Tillis. Watch the video here.
Here are some facts that you might want to be familiar with so you can help your undecided neighbors vote for Thom Tillis:
- On October 7th, we learned that Kay Hagan’s company applied for and received substantial federal grants (read your tax dollars) from the stimulus bill that Kay Hagan voted for. Seem like a conflict of interest to you?
- On October 14th, we learned that Hagan’s firm hired … well, themselves, which seems to have violated the Senate’s conflict-of-interest policy.
- On October 16th, we learned that the Raleigh USDA Office blocked access to records pertaining to a federal grant that directly benefited Kay Hagan and her family. Is it any surprise that this office is run by a man who obtained that post by recommendation from newly elected Senator Hagan?
- On October 20th, we learned that Kay Hagan introduced a bill that was written by Citibank. In that same 2-month period, 22 CitiBank executives, lobbyists & the bank’s PAC gave Kay Hagan $36,500 for her campaign. Seem like a confict of interest?
It’s clear that Kay Hagan is more interested in herself than North Carolinians. Help us defeat Kay Hagan by reminding your friends to go vote … then remind them again.
